Excitement rightfully builds for Josh Hader.

Throughout the year he's built more precision and confidence in his off-speed stuff and is starting to put them together nicely with his untouchable high fastball. He's starting to strike guys out with his changeup against righties and slider against lefties. He's also building up his stamina, going multiple innings in 5 of his last 7 appearances.

I love watching this kid pitch; I'm hoping he'll be ready for the starter rotation sometime next year.

And please, God, let this kid stay healthy!!! :hope:

He needs to control the hair, when it's windy it gets in his way.

Talent wise, love him. He just goes out there and blows guys away.

As of today, Hader has a 12.92 K/9 in 46.2 IP. Chris Sale is the only qualified pitcher in the Majors with a [barely] better K/9 at 12.93 in 214.1 IP.

It's obviously tougher to keep that rate going through 7 innings, but this is also Hader's first year and he's still developing.

    :hope:

Hader is awesome but I would prefer him in the role that he is in now

    For this year, most definitely.

Going forward, if we could get similar production out of him for the first seven innings of every fifth game, I'd definitely take that. I'm all for having a true ace starter for once.
