Howard doesn't have enough name recognition yet.

Meh, both would probably be ranked about the same. In that case, you take the back from a winning team. It really doesn't matter to me. If Howard keeps it up, he will go to plenty of pro bowls that I won't watch.

He will make the pro bowl since 20 or so drop out anyway, but yeah, this is the only vote that truly counts as pro bowl to me.

Considering they didn't even really start using him until Week 4, I'd have to agree with OP. Freeman had=s 4 more TD's, but ostensibly 4 more games.

I know who I'd take on my team, if I was picking between the two.

fwiw, I think Akiem Hicks got snubbed too.

The same? Howard leads the league in YPC with 5.0, and Freeman barely cracks the 4.0 mark.

Howard has more rushing yards, total yards... and all despite playing three less games.

It really isn't even a conversation, IMO. Freeman got in because he plays for the better team, that's the only reason.

TDs might've been a factor (12-7 in favor of Freeman) And freemen has been doing it longer. They might've taken other things like blocking ability into consideration. I'd rather have Howard, but a case can easily be made for freeman. It's really splitting hairs based off this year alone. Howard only playing part of the year might've played a role in it too.

Well, TD's is a pretty irrelevant statistic. Not only does Howard play for the far worse offense, he started three less games.

There is no case for Freeman. If there was a court case to be held for Freeman vs Howard, Freeman would plead no contest.

Howard's a young running back. He has has a quite good rookie season with the Bears in his first season. It's just he is not a Pro Bowl-caliber running back yet, as he continues to progress.

Huh? He is leading the league in YPC and averages over 100 yards per game. How is that not "pro bowl caliber"?

Okay, that was a dumb statement by me. I haven't paid much attention to this guy enough. He's a fantastic running back in the league, no doubt about it.

Unfortunately, it seems like you're not the only one. Sucks breaking out for a 3-win team. If the Bears were in 1st place, he'd have Zeke-level hype surrounding him.

I don't understand why Howard got snubbed... Second leading rusher in the NFL and didn't start the first three games? Hmm...

He is the first alternate so he will be there.

I'd take Howard over Zeke, right now.

Zeke has the benefit of the best o-line in the NFL...a better overall team.

Howard's ypc is better, and frankly, I just think his vision, patience and YAC are superior.

He is very underwhelming from a physical tool standpoint, but he has the absolute best patience and vision I have ever seen from a rookie RB. He just has a great feel for how to run the ball, and I swear he always falls forward for that extra yard or two. He makes very few "highlight reel" runs, but picks up 5-6 yards per pop like it is nobody's business.

I remember when Langford got hurt and the press was interviewing him. Asking about his poor 40 time and measurables. He responded by saying that he isn't the "the fastest RB" around, but other aspects of his game more than compensate. I think we found out what those "other aspects" are. The guy is one of the smartest runners I have ever seen.
