He got put in for Hoyer, led Cleveland on a beautiful drive, and just ran 10 yards for a TD.

Hoyer has been really bad in the last 3 games. JFF had 1 good drive and a comical drive that should have resulted in a fumble/td for the Bills.

It will be interesting to see what goes down this coming week. We might have a JFF start vs Indy next week.

Well, on the bright side, the decision to offer Hoyer a big time deal is getting easier and easier.

Hoyer has certainly played himself out of any kind of big-time deal. I still think the Browns should re-sign him for a few years...but it will be at backup money even if he remains the starter. Maybe have backup money guaranteed with incentives to make it a potentially starter paycheck.

Neither he nor Manziel have any skins on the wall, so itll come down to who gives the team the best chance to win. So far this year its been Hoyer, but with the offense as stagnant as it's been the last few weeks in a row it might be time to change things up.

I think you are really under estimating the demand for even a slightly serviceable QB around the league.

Hoyer is going to get a 2 year around $12 million total contract offer from a team that will give him a chance to start out of the gate. That is something the Browns can't offer him.

The QB job isn't being handed over to Manziel just yet. Depending on how the rest of the season plays out, I'd imagine that the starting QB spot is still going to be up for grabs going in to next year, so if Hoyer sticks around he can still win his spot.

I've been a pro-Hoyer guy from the get go, and have really been pulling for him to have a good year. Really, he has been pretty good all season, but has been really sub par the past few games...despite that he still led them on a game winning drive in Atlanta.

The biggest thing about Cleveland's offense is that they really struggle when the running game gets shut down, and they have an extremely difficult time against teams with dominant fronts. All their bad losses (Jax, Hou, Buf) have come from those teams dominating the trenches with their lines and shutting down Cleveland's running game.

I still think Cleveland should offer Hoyer competitive money, but they can't guarantee him any playing time...honestly, there aren't many teams around the league that can. With competitive pay, I'd bet he stays in Cleveland. He's a Cleveland guy and I honestly think this is where he wants to be.

Really is an interesting decision given that Cleveland still has a shot at making the playoffs. Ignoring any of the business aspects, from a purely football point of view, I think that even a slumping Hoyer is likely to give the Browns a better shot than turning to the rookie.
