is he "elite" (relative term). Lets say, in the pantheon of brady and rodgers, maybe brees, luck, roethlisberger...

is he "2nd tier" - your matthew stafford, matt ryan, philip rivers, russel wilson, eli manning...

or

is he a bottom feeder? mark sanchez, jay cutler, kapernick, geno smith, cam newton, etc

note: you may disagree with whos on what tier i listed above. just vote...

He's been good. He got white hot in the playoffs and rode that to a SB, and that shouldn't be discounted. He got it done, which is more than a lot of QB's can say. Hell, Dalton can't even get a win in the post-season.

But, if you just stack up his career numbers to other QB's over the same span...

idk night...his playoff record imo is too good to say average...yes, his teams have been good, but Matt's had some good teams too....fwiw..I think Matt is a better QB.

Joe is a strange QB to rate because he can look terrible one week with 3-4 picks, and the next week 325 yds/3tds.

What makes him above average imo is his point is pretty high (post season play)and it offsets his lack of consistent great play during the regular season.

I'm not taking Ryan into consideration at all since it's not about him. Flacco just isn't very accurate and has only had 2 seasons above a 90 QB rating. Using "his" playoff appearances or wins is more about how great of an organization the Ravens have been than it is simply about Flacco. I like consistency and the only thing he is consistent about is being inconsistent.

he throws probably the prettiest deep ball in the game.
The only other QB in the league who fishes for PI calls on deep balls as much as Flacco is Eli.

Wholeheartedly agree with this. The word "elite" is completely overrated.

Well, but even if TB had 11 let's say...Flacco being legitimately being mentioned in the same conversation on a career achievement is pretty strong.

The ongoing debate because they came from the same draft is Flacco vs Ryan...it's close, but having seen a lot of both QBs...imo Matt is a better, more consistent QB game in game out...but he hasn't played as well in the big games.

Yep, I understand that and it's a fair indicator. It's the word elite I have a problem with, it sucks.
