If we win this game, I could see us beating a handful of teams in the BIG this season....

It wouldn't be good enough for post-season qualification, but it would be nice building towards next season.

Unfortunately the BIG is literally the best Conference in the country this season. Michigan State already knocked off #7 Kansas last night.

Plenty of Kool-Aid here I guess. I'm thinkin we got a healthy (and beefed up) Ubel and healthy Talley. Plus Parker seems to be the real deal.

Imagine what a HUGE kickstart it would be for Coach Smiles if we could pull off the win. Just wishful thinking on my part I guess.

Yeah, I think we have 18 conf games. REEEALY doubt we go .500. We'll be lucky to win 7 or 8. More likely we'll win 5 or 6.

No........we lost 6 Seniors.........4 Senior starters from last year.

I don't expect as scrappy of a defense as NU had under Sadler. That's what gave NU a chance to win.

Miles is going to have to put his own thing together and that means a step backwards before they can move forwards.

Guise, if we lose to Valpo tomorrow night, like I think we more than likely will..........we will be lucky to win even 1 game in BIG play this season.

That is just the facts en sech.....

The BIG is absolutely loaded this season. 11 of 12 teams could end up playing post-season ball this year.....

Valpo is picked to win the Horizon League..........they're comparable to probably teams 6-11 in the BIG this season.....

We'll understand a little more what our chances are (if any) of winning any games in Conference play this year.

LOL. The Huskers should be more worried about winning their first B10 game than their 7th or 8th. The B10 is LOADED this year. Hell this is the best Iowa team in 6 years, we may start 11-2 or 12-1 and still only win 7 or 8 B10 games.

There is a reason they are projected as a preseason NCAA Tourney team.....

Valpo is solid. I think they would be comparable with a Purdue type team ( 10th best team in the B10ish) and they could beat Illinois or Iowa 2-3 games out of 10 IMO. Cant see them competing at all with the top 6 teams but who knows???

I don't think you properly understand the gap between even elite mid-majors and mid-level B1G teams. Valpo's (very good) team last year lost by 33 points to Ohio State. Ohio State's only B1G win that one-sided was against you guys.

Valpo last year wasn't comparable to the bottom half of the BIG last year......

Thus, my point........different year. Valpo returns 5 Senior Starters........that is extremely important.

I don't think you properly understand what returning 5 Senior Starters does for a team.
