Is Jaylon thinking somebody just draft me now or is he thinking take me later so I can collect more $$$$$? 100,000 per each pick slipped up to 5,000,000 is a lot of money picked up in a short amount of time. I would be thinking green because who cares at this point when you get drafted.

I just heard ESPN say that several GM's are more concerned about Myles Jack's knee than they are about Jaylon Smith's. Evidently Smiths knee should be getting better from this point on, while Jack's could degenerate more over the next few years. Tough situation for both. At this point, if I'm Smith, I'm just looking to get drafted by a team with a defense where he would feel comfortable playing. Getting $100,000 a pick is a good deal, but how much does he lose on his contract every pick he falls.

Falling into the second round could be good, because (I think) the standard contracts are shorter than for the first round picks. If he recovers fully, his second contract could be a big improvement over his rookie contract. In any event, I feel bad for both these kids (especially Jaylon)

Man the Top 3 ILB have fallen out of the 1st rd. I dont think I ever saw something like this at 1 position. Smith, Jack and Ragland all hurt and all suppose to be Top 20 picks and now in the 2nd rd.

They are now saying Smith Knee is better then jacks Knee even though Jack is farther along in rehab.

The key thing Smith's doctor said was, his nerves were not severed, but stretched. Which means the long-term prognosis is that they will regenerate and he will have full function again. The problem is, on the re-check right before the draft, he was still experiencing "drop foot" which shows that the nerve damage is still there.

I think he'll be fine if taken in the third round, esp. if a team has an extra pick in that round. After that, he might start to worry if he'll get drafted.

A team that has an extra draft pick in their pocket will take them
