this conference is literally dogshit from top to bottom.

remember when all the west coast flamers were touting UCLA as a top 5 team?

LMFAO at getting curb stomped by a 5-7 team coached by Mike Riley.

Easily the most ignorant post in a while. The PAC 12 won the most bowl games last year. The PAC 12 is 4-1 in Bowl Games this year. You may define them by the 1 loss if you want, but it's not exactly the intellectual approach.

You could reverse this logic and also claim the Sun Belt is the greatest conference based on Appalachian State winning their one bowl game. Just ignore the other losses.

The PAC has got to address their bowl tie in agreements they play some pretty crappy games.

Seems like we discuss this every new year's. The only good Bowl games for the PAC were the Rose and/or if they managed to get into the BCS championship (now playoff Semis). Now in seasons where the Rose is part of the playoff Semis rotation, there will be times that they don't even get that game.

To be fair the following are fun matchups:

Neb vs UCLA
BYU vs Utah
USC vs Wisconsin
Stanford vs Iowa
Oregon vs TCU

The Big 10 is getting the best bowl matchups with PAC & SEC teams.
The SEC does the next best with Big 10, Big 12 and ACC matchups.

What we need is more PAC vs SEC and Big 12 vs Big 10 matchups.

To be honest looking at it the ACC is kinda all over the bd but only a few compelling games.
North Carolina vs Baylor is a good one.
aTm vs Louisville is OK.
Indiana vs Duke is just blah
Houston vs FSU is only good if Houston wins.

The ACC actually has more work to do than the PAC looking at this years line-up.

You wont find anyone in the Pac that doesn't want SEC tie ins. I guess you have to talk to either the SEC and/or the various bowls they made agreements with to find out why the Pac doesn't have any. Really feels like it's beyond their control.

Bowls want to be more regional to ensure better travel by teams, but UW and the other northern teams fans will for sure travel to any warm weather climate destination. Maybe not as much the southern Pac schools. Travel has a lot to do with it.

the Pac did adress this over the last few years and did upgrade.
right now out of 7 bowls 6 are with the other P5 and the last is with MW champion. all are of fairly comprable level of competition.
a couple years ago it was like 3 bowls with MW
Rose is fine Champion vs Champion or at least high ranked team (runner up this year)
Alamo is Pac 2 vs Big 12 2 off by 1 this season because of plaoff and Big 6 bowl.
Holiday is #3 vs Big 10 3-5 team depending placement for playoff and or Orange/Citrus/outback. Newer deal only 2 years with Big. so far brought in two different 9 win teams. this year Wis roughly the 5/6
foster farms is also with Big 10 this year the matchup looked bad because Big didnt have enough 6-6+ teams and got a playoff and 2 Big 6 bowls.
5 team to the Sun Bowl to play the 3-6 team from the ACC isnt really a horrible deal just a bad place. 5 games with this match up and you have 4-1 in favor of the Pac but of those 4 wins 3 were a TD or less decision. 1 Blow out win per conference. this year the 5
then you have the Vegas Bowl which will give you BYU or the MW champion. thats the #6 team to play from the Pac against a BYU team which has had 1 season below 8 wins in the last decade (still 7-5) or the MW champion which makes regional sense and is at a 6-4 MW advantage in the last 10 played. Its a solid match up.
the #7 is the Cactus Bowl which matches up with the Big 12 #6. this year off by 1 becasue of playoff.

Arizona, Air Force and Washington were at large bids filling in spots for conference USA, Big 10 and Big 12 who could not fulfil their obligations. so dont count those against pacs match ups.

a Pac vs SEC is going to give 1 team a clear advantage unless you put it in like Texas or Kansas City or something

On the flip side you also have the fact PAC teams are not afraid to travel. Theres a long list of PAC teams that will play anyone anywhere. Oregon MSU, Oregon LSU, USC OSU, USC Nebraska, ,UCLA,Washington,Stanford, Cal.......... IMO location doesn't matter the PAC travels. Its more about working around bowl ties and they really should find a way to just make it happen

According to droider, UCLA should have won their bowl game so the PAC12 would be at 5-1.

I don't remember any good midnight Pac-12 games this year. The conference seemed a bit down after Stanford, Cal, Oregon, UCLA, and USC pooped their pants early on.
