Great his first full season, lots of saves. Albeit being early in the season, he seems to have forgotten how he got those saves in the first place.

<--- Hey, Rodney, this is for you.

@ 38 and not fooling anyone I would say he's close.. But he certainly shouldn't be the closer if this continues.... Just put him in middle relief or something and let him work on his stuff... Right now he's just getting utterly shelled ... His confidence is ZERO right now...

Thing I never understand is this; Rodney throws 8.1 innings in spring. How does that get anyone ready? I know that is common practice, but it makes no sense and side sessions don't get you mentally ready to face batters.

The use of a closer for most of Spring Training has never made sense and never will. I understand that they want to get everybody some work when they have the chance, but if you have a guy you expect to finish games off for you and he doesn't get that opportunity in Spring Training, how can you expect him to go out and do it when the season starts? I know they've been doing it that way for as long as I can remember and it seems to work for the best closers, but Spring Training is kinda dumb when it comes to stuff like that.

The mere mention of that name brings back an endless stream of nightmares. Please don't ever mention that name again.

Closer's don't grow on trees so it won't be easy to just throw another guy in there to do the closing... Hoping we won't have to figure it out... We will need a plan for next season for sure...

I can see us making a trade for a closer at the deadline if Rodney struggles but we're still in the thick of things...
