I always remember Opening Day being the day when everyone plays. They should name today, Opening Game night, tomorrow is Opening Day.

Yeah, the term "Opening Day" in MLB is now ill defined. I guess that MLB finds it financially advantageous to have several Opening Days, but it does take away some of the luster it had when every team played on the same day, in my opinion.

IMO

Astros
Twins
Rockies
White Sox
Marlins (though they should be considerably better than last year, they could have one of the best pitching staffs in the NL)
Cubs

Their future outlooks don't look too bad though, especially in the case of the Twins/Cubs/Astros. They have some of the best farm systems. White Sox started rebuilding a lot later than they should have, but I like what Hahn's done and he's turning their minor league system around.

They always have that 1 game to start the season, then the day where pretty much everyone plays. The Yankees don't start until Tuesday.

You all are forgetting about the Seattle Mariners. They have been on or close to the bottom for the last couple years. With a new coach and a few new players we can hope they do well this season. Preseason has been good, but they seem to falter starting on Opening Day.

ZiPS has them at 83-79 and PECOTA has them at 82-80. Davenport has them at 79-83. Vegas has them at 81.5. Of course, they finish 4th in all four iterations.

They played in Australia like a week ago. I think MLB has recently done these international games very early, help build market and expand their brand.

Not really looking forward to a Dodgers/Padres game tonight thought, Dodgers are suppose to be the top while the Padres are going to be lucky to not finish last. You'd think MLB who is trying desperately to create a new buzz around their product would give us something like Cards vs Giants or Red Sox vs whoever (besides the Yankees)
