If Cam wasn't an athletic freak I don't think his arm is accurate enough to be a NFL quarterback. Once he starts losing a step or two I don't think his job is safe.
It's not unreasonable to think he would get better with experience. But he's got no one to throw to this year.he had them last year and years before.
hes not a rookie lol
going into this year when he had steve smith and/or kelvin benjamin, etc
85.4 rating
59.5% comp
not far off this years throwing numbers.

i didnt read ater the first sentence. yes, QB's are primarily paid to throw. its why tim tebow isnt in football. he threw a football like it was a half full can of paint. So you are only focusing on one part of what makes up Cam Newton and why he has helped his team be an undefeated team this year. You are also not taking into account who he is throwing to. You are looking at this in such a small vacuum that you are missing the very big picture. Pretty much you are trying to force people to vote the way you want them to vote by only focusing on one part of his game while also not looking at what he has around him.
Cam will never be a top-10 QB in accuracy. That is just not him. He doesn't have to be to win though. Because he can make big plays with his legs and because a lot of his throws do seem to be of the deeper variety (he is 4th in air yards per attempt). He also has the 4th fewest percentage of his yards being after the catch meaning his receivers are not getting a ton of separation. So he is having to throw it further than most just to get yards this season.
So again when looking at it with the vacuum you have set up here then no he is not a good passer of the football. When you begin to expand the view a bit he isn't as bad as you are trying to make him out to be.
thank you for not being a dick and just voting and discussing.I think he is a good/slightly above average passer, some of the throws he makes are simply incredible and he has a nice quick release of the ball.
Hey, one highlight proves he's accurate! Cam's success stems from his athleticism and he would have never been given a chance based purely on his quarterback skills.Would you actually watch the games and reevaluate your opinion?

see? you sir, are a smart poster who knows football. i found one!Hey, one highlight proves he's accurate! Cam's success stems from his athleticism and he would have never been given a chance based purely on his quarterback skills.

no, not reading your diatribe shows it was off topic. i asked if cam newton is a good thrower of the football. There are lots of reasons Tim Tebow is not in the NFL. He couldn't throw. He couldn't read a defense. He was a locker room distraction. He was terrible at practice (Champ Bailey commented on this just this past week). The list can go on.
You not reading my post just secures that you are wanting to control the conversation by limiting what is allowed to be talked about. You are not trying to find facts you are trying to to force small snippets of information down our throats and tell us "this is the truth." A very limited look at stats doesn't paint a very clear picture of who a player actually is.
Also QB's are paid to do so much more than pass. If that is the case then Brady was a terrible QB to start out his career. I mean those first few years starting he wasn't a great passer. He wasn't terrible but he wasn't great either. He was a great game manager. So does that mean we should take those first couple of Super Bowls out of the discussion when talking about Brady being the GOAT?
why did you focus on one metric when i listed several at once? Thanks to completion percentages, We now know who the Best NFL QB is this year - Its Tyrod Taylor. Mr Brady is 5th.

like kelvin benjamin and steve smith in past years where his numbers were similar to this year? And yeah. Let's just throw out the door the possibility of him getting some actual weapons at WR and improving his completion %.
No you asked if Cam was good at doing what QB's are paid to dono, not reading your diatribe shows it was off topic. i asked if cam newton is a good thrower of the football.
you refuse to answer.
yes, then i listed:No you asked if Cam was good at doing what QB's are paid to do
