Hawks looked great tonight @ Minny. Next match @ PSU ends a very tough dual schedule in a tough B1G season with Iowa undefeated so far.

Very happy with the win @ Penn St. Iowa has dominated the B1G season with undoubtedly the toughest schedule including this win, @ Ohio St, @ Okie St and @ Minny. We'll beat Mich and head to the post season tourneys.

Tough match with #5 Cornell today, but #1 Iowa prevails and heads into the finals of the EAS/NWCA National Duals with a showdown with #2 Missouri.

NWCA duals finals were a disappointment for me. Iowa didn't come out with much fire and weren't aggressive at all. Mizzou won 6 out of the 10 matches with Iowa wins by Clark, Moore, Evans and Telford. Disappointing were losses by:

#6 Dziewa to #5 Lavion Mayes (not by the loss, but by how badly Mayes kicked his ass 13-6)
#2 Sorenson being upset by #4 Houdashelt
#16 Kelly getting smoked by #12 LaValle 6-1

I thought Sammy Brooks would have beaten Miklus, but Brooks didn't wrestle.

#6 Burak put up a hell of a fight with #1 and undefeated J'Den Cox, but lost 4-3

Hopefully this is an eye opener for the Hawks.

On to the B1G Tourney.

Mizzou has 6 wrestlers from the state of Iowa if I recall plus Joe Johnston as an asst coach, so it's pretty much that Iowa got out Iowa'd in this match. We were flat for sure, Sorenson losing was a huge disappointment to me, but Burak stuck with Cox IMO and Meyer came that close to winning. Gotta get tougher to win the NCAA title.
