Well, we had this thread on the "other" site and unfortunately injuries are part of the game. So feel free to post any new injuries or updates on injured players here for all to see...........comments on replacements/players that will be affected are good info too.

Maclin suffered a torn right ACL on Saturday, Philadelphia Inquirer writer Zach Berman reports. Analysis: A season-ending injury was the fear as soon as Maclin fell to the ground Saturday, and that fear unfortunately has come true. It's a bad situation for Philadelphia and especially Maclin, because Maclin will be a free agent after the 2013 season. Riley Cooper and Arrelious Benn appear to be Maclin's top replacement candidates.

Maybe the Eagles go out and grab a WR? If memory serves me (and anymore it doesn't) but didn't Cooper get a lot lf chances last year and pretty much pooped the bed?

Maybe a bit more serious than originally thought.

Pitta (dislocated hip) will miss at least Baltimore's Week 1 match against Denver. Analysis: Pitta is looking at an absence of at least six weeks as a result of the hip dislocation, which he suffered in practice Saturday. It's not clear just how optimistic or cautious that prognosis might be, but it's in any case safe to say the Ravens need to plan on playing without Pitta to start the year. Ed Dickson should be able to pick up the slack.

Like the way they said Dickson should pick up the slack.............hasn't shown much IMO.

flashes, but no, not much else. I had him as a TE to watch going into last year, but Pitta put him to shame. Perhaps he'll wake up..

Old news but still worthy..............

Harvin would miss the entire season if he does indeed need hip surgery, the Seattle Times reports. "If you have hip surgery, it's a lot longer than the season," coach Pete Carroll said. "Hip surgery, he's not going to play for the season." Analysis: Harvin is scheduled to meet with a hip specialist Tuesday. Obviously, losing Harvin would be a severe kick in the stomach for the Seahawks, who have title-contending hopes with Harvin in the fold.

I'm sure there will be more to follow.

Updating previous reports, Baltimore Ravens TE Dennis Pitta (hip) is expected to miss the entire 2013 season because of the dislocated hip he suffered Saturday, July 27.

Who drafted him in the Suicide League? Did they draft a backup? How many notches does this move Flacco down and does anybody have the stones to draft Dickson now?

Will drafted Pitta and Harvin. His backup TE is Heath Miller still on the mend.
Scape has Maclin.

Well to answer my own question........Will and yes he did draft a backup...................

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (knee) said his right anterior cruciate ligament is a work in progress.

I like Miller a lot this year if he comes back 100%. Man, this could be a tough break for Will though if he doesn't. That's 2 potential roster spots down the tubes right off the bat.

 Check out Joe "Quick-Draw" McGraw............didn't notice Will had Harvin too though. Um, maybe next year's suicide draft should be a tad bit later? That's 3 potential (counting Miller as he still isn't back yet) roster spots wasted for Will.

Nah... it's a marathon of bad news, not a sprint. We have the regular MBBRL for sensible drafts.

I am hoping for good news on Harvin, though.

Flacco's looking kinda sketchy now, too. Boldin and Pitta accounted for 1590 yards and 11 TDs.

I vote to not hold it any later. That's the reason we do it the way we do. And this is coming from the guy who just lost Maclin for the season. I'm down to 3 wr already.

Dan Koppen out for the season. Normally, an O-lineman can mean bad news for the RB, but with the injury occurring so early, I think the Broncos should be alright... even though we're talking about Peyton's alphabet cadence.

My Crabtree pick looks better every day. :yahoo:

Now I am kicking myself for picking my rookie RB based on bye weeks. Should have grabbed Ball or Bell like my gut told me to.

"Obviously it is no surprise that Crabtree won’t be practicing with the 49ers, but the choice to put him on the PUP list is significant. He can now move onto the reserve PUP list come the regular season, which forces him to miss the first six games of the season before a three-week window opens to take the player off the list. There are then three more weeks for him to practice before he must be activated or shut down for the remainder of the season.

It will take some time before we know how Crabtree’s rehab will go, but handling things this way leaves open the 49ers’ spot for a player to be placed on injured reserve with the possibility of returning to the team later in the season. Knowing Crabtree’s general timeline allows them to use the PUP list while keeping open the possibility of another late season return to bolster their roster down the road.

OK, so here is a Percy Harvin question. This hip injury; if he doesn't need/have surgery is this more than likely going to nag him all year? I mean hey, I doubt he will be around where I would draft him this year as may folks have him in the top 5-10 WR's but if he drops he could be a steal..........or a MAJOR headache (no pun intended). So my question is what/who do we compare this to?

The Seahawks' own Kam Chancellor played through the same thing in 2012 and started all 16 games and had a career high in tackles. That helps, because I think the real issue will be Harvin's attitude. I think the Seahawks are playing it the right way by letting Harvin see who he wants about it; if he feels the love from the team he may be more willing to push through. If the tear isn't seen as serious they'll probably work with him to balance out his musculature and keep him stretched, shoot him up with cortisone, and let him play.

If for some reason he ends up with surgery, I wouldn't expect him back before November at the earliest.

But really I think it's Harvin's head - does he feel like he's not doing himself any harm by playing through it, is the team behind him, does he want to dispel the notion that he's fragile, etc. If he plays hard in pre-season I still want him. If he has surgery I might stash him. If he doesn't have surgery and looks tentative, my expectations drop fast.
