Michel Jourdain Jr. really hasn't shown the speed needed to bump even Katherine Legge out over the past three days.

Still, if I'm anyone below Vautier on the grid, I would be making sure that things are ready for a possible Happy Hour run (or two).

that car looked evil in his last 2 practice attempts....shame there wont be any drama...i never rule out aj foyt running out a car last minute....but not to be.

They always bring in a celebrity Pace Car driver for the 500: This year it will be current 49er's coach/former Colts QB/Panther Racing part owner Jim Harbaugh.

I think it sucks that only 34 cars attempted to qualify. Teams should find drivers for backup cars just so it's more competitive to make the field on the final day. At one time it came down to the wire for drivers to just make the field. Now some people seem to be happy there are 33 cars in the race. How Indycar racing has fallen. It's in sad shape.

Yea DaBoltsNIsles. The IRl has a great opportunity to steal fans from disgruntled NASCAR fans and they are pissing away the chance to really grow. Mismanagment and in-fighting in the governing body is killing the series and Mario Andretti has been right all along.

Officially, the IRL has been 'dead' now for a couple of years. They call the successor INDYCAR but, from what I've seen of who really seems to call the shots (the team owners), they should call it CART 2.0. :rollseyes:

From what I can tell the Andretti family is in some ways keeping the series afloat. Michael has been very involved with a number of race tracks to continue some of the races on the circuit going.

Yea DaBoltsNIsles. You are correct that the Andretti family is really pushing to keep the series alive and people like Penske seem to want to tear down just because he is not the sole focus of it. Sad but true.

Back at my father's house after Carb Day at IMS. Breezy & chilly day - much like the forecast for Sunday.

Took my little video recorder & got some footage that I'll edit into a 'film' for everyone once I get back home (I can't do it on my dad's computer: He doesn't have the requisite program). Look for my post with it here on Monday night/Tuesday morning.

I hope that some of you got to see the Indy Lights race - four cars wide coming down to the yard of bricks on the last lap for the win!

I agree Ragingcroc and Potzer. That completely sucked!! A duel with Hunter-Reay, Andretti, Munoz, and Kanaan would have been way better. Freaking Franchitti! Get the hell out of the way and let the contenders race. Simply sucked!!

Good race though its a bit annoying that the leader can't pull away. Whoever was in the lead towed everyone else behind them. Might need to tweak the aero just a tad. Happy for TK though. Couldn't have happened to a better guy
