I remember the Atari 2600 being a big deal, and getting a color tv. I believe it was 12". We also were one of the first families to get a microwave.

A Coke costs:

The toy I remember playing with the most was:
My atari. If it wasn't that, I was having dirt clod wars and making guns and bows and arrows from sticks.

Electronics: I remember the tail end of the Atari, we had one, but my era was more of the Nintendo game, Super Mario Bros and Tecmo Bowl.

A Coke costs: 50 cents seems right, depends on where you got it from and the size.

The toy I remember playing with the most was: My football. I would run outside and throw the ball up to myself if my brother or a friend weren't around. I bet the cars driving by thought I was a special kid, but hey it was great exercise and I was a few steps ahead of my grade on the football field because of it.

A pogo stick - challenging on our long gravel driveway. But I was especially good at pickup sticks on the playground at school.

I had a to take a nap every Sunday afternoon and listening to the radio was forbidden. So I'd hide it under my pillow and listen to Houston Colt 45 games.

Every Thursday night was taco night! On Sunday night we had corn meal mush, usually fried. It was a reminder of her days during the depression. Today we call it polenta and pay a lot for it at fancy restaurants.

Cassette tape recorders came out and they were all the rage. I used to steal (borrow) my Dad's and we would record our voices and play them back. Funny to hear your own recorded voice for the first time!

I had an awesome G.I Joe collection but I really liked my Evil Kneivel action figure with his wind up motorcycle.

We never sat around. We were always out building forts, creating jumps for our bikes or playing on the snow hills.

Rode my bike to their house and rang the bell. I would call but always got the 3rd degree from their parents.
Gasoline costs:
80 cents/gallon. When I finally got a car, I used to pump about a dollar or two into the tank, cause that's all I had. Most gas gauges would go about a quarter inch below empty before you actually ran out.

Electronics: When my grandpa bought a NES so he could play Duck Hunt. I thought that was the coolest thing I had ever seen. All I ever played before that was Burger Time on our Intellivision.

We would spent winter days outside banging helmets until our parents made us come in. Back when we were young and the weather didn't matter to us. I remember throwing a football up out in ice and windy conditions like there was nothing wrong with it.
