Your team is only up by 1 in the bottom of the 8th. There's a runner on 2nd, 2 outs. It's your turn in the lineup. Your manager says you can sit this one out if you want. What do you do?

If the playoffs are a possibility, I hit. If we have already clinched, or are out of it, I sit. At this point of the season, personal goals mean something as long as team goals do not.

Does my team need the game? If we're 71-91 and it's meaningless I'd probably sit just so the people who came out to see me try and get to 400 have a ticket stub they can hold onto as a pleasant memory of an otherwise shitty year.

If the game means anything from home field, making the wild card etc I'm hitting.
