The penalties going forward should be a concern, but if any of you have played/coached football you know how games like these are the hardest to prepare for. Not in terms of worry about win/loss, but keeping the focus and motivation up. You can say all the right things all you want, but the kids know the truth about this game and you could tell in the first quarter they were not taking it that seriously. Price was overthrowing, KW dropped a pass right at him, and the early blocking was sloppy at best. Sure, they hung 21 a quarter over the first half anyway, but those kids were not into a grove for much of it.
This is why these games should be outlawed to begin with. You can't get your kids up for them, the fans hate having to pay full price for these shitty home games, you risk injury to your kids for nothing, and you can't take away anything positive to build on even if you blow the other team up.
If UW reaches double digit penalties next week I don't see them winning. Can we use today as any indication of the likelihood? No.
