This isn't just for cars - but that works, too. Check out this freakin' bicycle:

With new lightweight and cheap materials, and cheap Chinee labor, we could have some really cool shit. Instead, I paid $1,500 for my Cannondale and it looks like every other bike.

Check out this little 16 foot boat I've been looking for to restore. There are a hundred cool little boats from this era dripping with character:

Is the problem we all want to look alike now or what?

Smoking in the office. Booze all the time. Supper clubs! Those must've been the days.

Check this rendering...the driver has a martini on the dash!

That was the golden age of automotive design. Cars had soul and character. Now they all look like a freakin Camry.

Since boats are kinda' my thang, I like the 1950s incredible designs when fiberglass was new. But if cars or motorcycles or whatever are your thang, they had all the cool stuff then.

Design? I suppose.

2.5 ton, 24 ft long sedans? No thank you.

Not everything was huge and not all of it was good. But that's what it takes to create cool shit.

My dad had one of these and GAVE it away when I was very young. They're really collectable today...wish he could remember where it went.

Just the nav. lights on the bow of a lot of these little runabouts have more cool design elements than entire new boats.

Someone was trying to unload a black one of those on a Pawn Stars episode a while back. They didn't buy it from the guy tho.

The perfect car for my lifestyle. It needs a common rail diesel and the body made from carbon fiber.

This is a bad ass automobile ... I would love to see it recreated with today's technology. That's right I want Bluetooth, USB, blind spot warning, auto braking, etc... - oh yeah, 600+ HP
