I was looking forward to the show bc that’s all music that I grew up with and liked. Gotta admit though, seeing them at that age trying to be “young” like back in the day just didn’t come off right. I enjoyed it. I liked the music but it hit me halfway thru that this is probably the last go round for that crew.

I’m not a big U2 fan either. I only knew their most popular songs which is what they sang for the halftime show. Those songs were incredibly popular at that time so most people knew them even if you didn’t like U2.

From the start of that show there was incredible energy. I mean it was a mini concert the way they did it. It wasn’t so much a theatrical performance but rather a high energy show.

However, when they started that last song by raising that banner and ALL the names started scrolling EVERYONE in that stadium stopped what they were doing and looked to see what was going on. It started slowly but quickly built into this incredibly high energy and very emotional performance. I was there live and I saw grown men wiping tears from their faces during the performance but when Bono ended the performance by opening his jacket… I thought the roof was gonna come off the Superdome.

This is that last song. I won’t post the entire performance but the energy you see in this song was pretty prevalent throughout the entire show. Although the video doesn’t give the performance its proper due you can still feel the energy and emotion that was there…
