Dude's an intense coach, but he keeps the necessary tough love behind closed doors. Stays polite, articulate and charismatic with the media no matter what the situation is.

That he's from South Dakota and big on his remaining family there and the people in that community helps significantly. He's close to home in Lincoln and the folks from there can come watch his team. There was a big section of them in the Devaney for the Penn St game last year and the announcer gave a shout out to them. The only place he could go that would be comparable is Minnesota and they just got a new coach.

Well immediately following the game and he was being interviewed on the court he was asked "What did you say to the team in the locker room at half time?" regarding the 13 point defecit.

He's a hard guy not to love......just the way he wears that smile and tells it how it is.

I love the shit out of him.

I'll wait until he does what I think he'll do before I declare him one of the greatest Huskers ever, but when that time comes, I will have him right up there with Tom Osborne, Tommy Frazier, etc. etc..

I honestly would rather have seen all this money we spent on basketball pumped in to the Nebraska Football program.
