I guarantee that either the Marlins or the Mets will win one of the Wild Card spots this year. Im thinking the Marlins though, mostly because I hate the Mets and would puke if they made the postseason.

If I had to drop money on a team that missed the playoffs last year to get in this year in the NL, I am definitely dropping it on the Marlins.

They are going to be pretty good this year. Especially when Fernandez comes back.

My money is on the Marlins... I still see the Mets being a below 500 team... Just not sold on their rotation yet... they have some MAJOR question marks...

The Mets are going to win 85-87 game this year IMO. They have a lot of good young starters in their rotation but it all depends on how good Harvey is after his surgery.

I think the Marlins could make a run at the WS this year.

I think the main contenders for this in the NL are the Marlins, Mets, Cubs and Padres. I agree that the smart money is on Miami.

In the AL, it would be Boston, Seattle, and maybe Texas. CLEARLY, the favorite is Boston.

I think the Marlins could make a run at the WS this year.

They might be one of the most talented rotations, but they have a below average bullpen and a terrible offense... And I can tear down their rotation in a second with logical concerns, that really do scare me...

Harvey- coming back from Tommy John, he has also never seen failure in the pros yet... he should struggle a little early on this season, can he mentally handle it?? can he physically handle it??

Degrom- might have been rookie of the year last season, but he showed stuff that he has never shown before, so who is the real DeGrom?? also, I never trust sophomore pitchers

Wheeler- sophomore pitcher, I just don't trust them and recent sophomores have a great probability of tommy John

Bartolo Colon- he is a constant, but he is a year older, how much is left in his tank??

Jon Niese- Glimpses of being good, glimpses of being Ok, Glimpses of being terrible, Can he stay healthy

Noah syndegaard- Major talent, but he is still an unproven prospect...

I hope I am wrong, as a native NYer I love when the Yankees and Mets are both good... This year, I fear them both to be average at best teams...

I don't think the Orioles make the playoffs.

Here's how I see it:

NL Divisions: Dodgers, Cardinals, Nationals
NL WC: 2 of Giants, Padres, Marlins, Pirates
AL Divisions: Angels, Tigers (really hard to pick ALC), Blue Jays
AL WC: 2 of White Sox, Red Sox, As, Indians, Royals, maybe even Rangers or Yankees. Lots of parity in AL

WS: Nationals over White Sox (homerish as heck)

The Mets are finally a formidable team. With equally impressive pitching from the starting staff and the bullpen the Mets have been able to overcome a series of injuries with relative easy. Outside of Duda the production at the plate thus far has been inconsistent but the Mets are deep enough to sustain an off day from regulars...so long as someone continues to come through with a big hit in a big spot. This team may not have the big bats necessary to win the World Series but what they do have is the pitching, depth and grit to grind out 85-90 wins. If Alderson can find a way to acquire Tulowitzki anything is possible.
