Ok, if the stars were to line up and the Bengals are some how able to select Dre Kirkpatrick and Cordy Glenn in the 1st Round and if they are blessed again to have Doug Martin and Alshon Jeffery available in the 2nd Round who would you rather see drafted by the Bengals? That is a tough call as RB and WR is especially deep this year. I like both players but the more I watch Doug Martin the more he reminds me of Ray Rice. Damn, this is a good draft!

I guess of the two, I would prefer Martin also.

However, if the stars were to align perfectly, than we would not need Martin in the 2nd, as we would draft Richardson 17th, and DeCastro 21st.

I'd take Jeffrey easily. Was never that impressed by Martin while watching Boise games. Then give me Pead or Lamichael James in the 3rd. Jeffrey is a top 10 talent. Martin is not.

Jeffery wouldn't even run at the combine. I wouldn't take him in the 4th round. Obviously he's hiding something. Martin will be twice the better pick than Jefferey.

If Pead were for sure to be around in the 3rd, I would take the WR....but I'm not 100% he'll last that long, especially if both Miller or the kid from VaTech go in the 1st after TR.....

In the above scenerio...I'd take Martin, but also, in the above scenerio we wouldn't need a RB because the Bengals signed Bush.

Luck wouldn't throw at the combine. There must be something wrong with him. I wouldn't touch him with a 10' pole.

Jeffry was good in college bc he could overpower smaller CBs and go up and get balls. He doesn't get off jams well, his top end speed isn't great, and he doesn't get great separation. All of those don't translate well to the NFL. I haven't seen anyone touting him as 'top 10 talent.'

I would go with Martin in the scenario.

rb could make an immediate impact, rookie wr's usually don't unless they are freaks like AJ

I haven't watched Martin enough to know what makes him special. Jeffry has awesome size and might make a nice compliment to Green. I do worry that he could be a lot like Mike Williams coming out of USC though -- He'll have to watch his diet and be able to run by corners.

Jeffery is a no-brainer. He'd be a great compliment to Green. His game isnt about speed, it's about size. He's like the charles barkley of WR's. Personally, I think he'll still go in the first/early second. I'd be shocked if he's there when the Bengals pick in round 2.

As far as Martin goes I think he's a little overrated. I wouldnt take him in the 2nd. It's not like he's battle tested coming outta Boise State. They could probably get Chris Polk in the 3rd without much drop off (if any from Martin). Also guys like Cyrus Grey, Vick Ballard etc that will be available that IMO are not that big of a drop from Martin.

A lot of teams didn't think they needed a trouble making WR out of Marshall too. A lot of teams also didn't think they needed a WR without great speed out of a small school either. Randy Moss and Jerry Rice. And Jeffery was a top 10 WR before this year and the terrible QB play.

Martin was nothing more than a 4th round running back when the season ended. He isn't great at anything. He was never great at Boise. I'll take game tape over post season crap everytime.

1300 yards, a 4.9 ypc average, and 18 TDs is a pretty good year in my eyes, but I do agree with you, I am very suspect on Martin because of the defenses he played against, a lot of those stats were racked up against crap teams. I think he looks a lot better on paper than he does on the field

Martin played one SEC defense this year...Georgia. In that game 24 lugs for 57 yards. Yeah, some of that is the O-line's fault but color me unimpressed.

Lol... what?! Please don't try to make things up to back up your argument. He's averaged over 1,200 yds and 5.6 yds per carry the last two seasons and he did that in a passing offense, if he was featured more there is no doubt his numbers would have been even better. But the thing that makes Martin special is his ability to score having scored 43 rushing TD's the last 3 seasons.

Either way this is a great draft for the Bengals as this draft is stocked at all the positions (RB, WR, OG, CB) of need.

Watch us start reaching for safeties and linebackers..... We're do for a bad draft.

Unfortunately I have that sinking feeling too; I can see the Bengals selecting Luke Kuechly with one of their 1st Round picks.
