If you did the upgrade from your previous version to 10 you should know that your old Windows files still exist on the drive in a folder called Windows.old (what else?), but there are also other files from the upgrade that are not needed either. You could just delete the files if you knew where to look but luckily the disk clean up tool will find them for you.

1. In Explorer right click on the drive (usually C: ) and select properties.
2. Click Disk Cleanup button in the General tab when the properties box appears.
3. In the Disk Cleanup box click the Clean up system files button, this will find all those log files and such from the upgrade, along with the Windows.old folder.
4. Click to select each item you want to delete when the box reappears and then click OK. You will recover a huge amount of space (5-6 Gig more than likely).
