I briefly looked at an Astros message board and they were talking a lot or shit about Maldonado and Abreu.

The last time the Rangers won a 4 game series with the Yankees? 1995.

Evan just posted a video blog. The basics:

deGrom: basically a Ferrari. High performance, but any issues are costly. Best case scenario, the Rangers skip a turn or two and can leave Dunning in bullpen. If JdG is out for a chunk of time, Rangers still need to proceed as though they're in it (since as of now they are). Odorizzi was brought in for this (rotation depth) but is out for year. Cole Winn not pitching well enough to be an option. EG suggests pulling the trigger on a trade with a shitty team (such as White Sox) for a SP and a BP piece. Said that with injuries to big names in SEA and HOU, Rangers can and should seize the opportunity to strike.

Perez: arguably the best start of the NYY series. has grown into a crafty LHP. 2022 not a fluke. 8th in ERA and IP since start of 2022. 36 straight starts of 5+ IP.

Offense: Duran has knocked Smith out of the conversation. Seager should be back mid-May. Duran likely to split time with Jankowski in LF when Corey is back. Garver out at least another month. Heim was the best catcher in MLB for April. 5th highest WAR in April for all players (tied with Wander Franco and Mike Trout). Jung still striking out a bit too much but still one of the top rookies in AL.

Schedule: May will be a test for Rangers. Lots of tough teams - Atlanta, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore included. Only 8 home games.

I bet the FO considers him untouchable. Bet he gets a promotion to AAA soon.
He might but they may move him up to the club this year if Leody is not doing well.
Bet they like they like the ROY compensation.
Not sure how long they can wait but maybe he does go to AAA first

the off days come at a good time, I know we have a 3 game winning streak going, but just lots of shit happening lately. A nice time to take a breather and hopefully buy time for Seager and degrom to return

At the rate he's going, he probably should get a crack at the Majors this year. I would ideally like to see him get some seasoning at AAA, but If Duran could get a call up from AA last year, maybe Carter should. He's a better prospect than Jung was, no?

I think they will want to see Carter both perform well longer at Frisco and then perform well for a few weeks in AAA.

After the next to games against Arizona, we have 9 games against the West.

Does Bradford make sense to bring up now?
Once they decided to not allow Ragans and Dunning to go to AAA and stay stretched out, they pretty much forced themselves to go with the best guy they have in AAA once a need arose. That would be Bradford by a longshot.

Ideally, Ragans, Otto, and Dunning would be available, but one of them got hurt and the other two were sent to the bullpen because the team failed to address the pen in the offseason.

Bradford's success this year is every bit as big of a deal as Evan Carter's success. The difference is that Bradford has had his at AAA and Carter has had his at AA.

It has probably been more than 20 to 25 years since we have had a young prospect who has pitched this well at AAA.

This didn't answer my question

Chiming in I would not bring up Bradford for one start but if worse case scenario and 60 day IL then yes bring him up. Interesting option even over Dunning. More seamless
