Bama should win this. More recognizable coach in Bear over Osbourne. More National championships, better all time record and, to me, Bama is just has a bigger brand than Nebraska.

I give Osbourne credit, he had the balls to go for 2 when a national championship was on the line rather than trying to get a tie and hope the voters rewarded him.

That is always the 1 thing I've always remembered/liked about him most, even if Nebraska didn't win the National Championship as a result.

Actually Nebraska had great teams in the 1890's through 1930's as well.

Don't you worry. Your Big 10 homer (iowajerms) says he's going to give you a do over. :L

When considering Notre Dame:
From 1899 to 1950 you have to give it to Notre Dame who had a 23 year jump start on USC who didn't even play its first game until 1922. USC was competitive with Notre Dame in just 4 years.

Everybody's got to put their emphasis somewhere when voting. I choose to put it in modern (more organized) football when you have two similar teams.

I can understand why you domers want to emphasize from the 1880's to the 1930's as being the most storied in college football.

My vote will continue to be weighed on modern organized football. In that scenario Notre Dame would be 5th or 6th best, just above Michigan, another team that lives off it's eastern media bias in the days prior to radio's even being a part of American homes.

Notre Dame was the greatest ever before people even had radios in their homes. :L

And then when considering Nebraska:
Actually Nebraska had great teams in the 1890's through 1930's as well.

Don't you worry. Your Big 10 homer (iowajerms) says he's going to give you a do over. :L
Nice.
