That's the rumor that's been going around anyway. Swarbrick has been going ham getting us solid opponents we haven't played in awhile (well part is ACC scheduling but I'm not complaining). Michigan who?

Notre Dame always plays a tough schedule. Some years it doesn't end up that way at the end of the season looking back but there are no little sisters of the poor on their schedules. I give them credit for trying to play the best.

We do always play a tough schedule, but it's normally comprised of the same teams. I was just pointing out we're playing good programs we haven't played in a long time or ever.

About time we went after the SEC. Now just have to beat them.

Slowly but surely we're building more name recognition in the south...ACC affiliation, now the Bull Dogs from GA. Just have to win.

LOL I agree. We will have the toughest schedule for the next couple of years. At least it isn't alabama.

LOL. Only two of them finished ranked last year. USC and Stanford. Vanderbilt would have been a tougher opponent than Georgia last year ( they beat them). Don't fall for SEC hype. Just because it's an SEC team doesn't mean they are automatically good.

Of course it does and any SEC team even the bottom feeders would dominate in any other conference including the Pac12.

Tennessee, florida and Georgia lost a combined 20 games last year. And went 10-14 in their conference games. (2 of Georgia's wins were against Tn and Fla). I don't see that happening again any time soon. Hopefully maybe in 2017 and 2019.

I think Florida and Georgia and, to a lesser extent, Tennesee, have the ability to rebound quickly because the talent pool is very deep in the south. Look at Auburn. They were a joke two years running after winning it all, and were back in the title game last year (albeit based on two very freaky plays). UF and TN were down, but won't stay down. And UGA, while down, was mostly due to injuries. I am not a rah rah team SEC guy, that mentality drives me insane actually, but in two, three years's time, its going to be hard to predict where we'll both be. I am looking forward to it, mostly because I have an acquaintance that is about as annoying a sports fan there is, loves to talk trash but is also a front-runner. He's a UGA fan, so naturally, he touts Alabama's success because UGA hasn't won it all.

This is more about making inroads in the south than about "playing the best." We need to make a presence there becasue none of the kids playing now were alive when we were consistently a top program. Its almost like starting over with a new generation.

I was just talking about the '19 schedule in general. I don't think anyone expects Texas to be down for long. VT could be done for good, but I doubt it.
