If Michigan cancels next week against tOSU, and they do it be that Wednesday, tOSU can replace them with another BigTen team.(assuming another game is cancelled)

While watching the weekly CFP show last night, I was stunned when Kirk Herbstreit suggested that Michigan might cancel their game with tOSU. It sounded (to me) like Herbstreit was implying that Michigan would do it in order deny the Buckeyes the six games required to qualify for the B1G championship game.

Apparently that didn't go over well and Herby was forced to apologize for the suggestion.

These types of comments don't come out of nowhere. So I think it is safe to say that the Michigan/tOSU situation was being talked about off camera.

In 2006 Tressel didn't turn in his ballot on the final BCS poll which cost Michigan a shot at a rematch
at the NC game. Maybe they haven't forgotten that. That all turned sour for the Big10. The two teams
that were 1 and 2 going into the OSU/Mich game, both lost in the Bowls. OSU was trampled by Florida
in the BCS title game and Michigan beaten by USC at the Rose Bowl.
