Much like it was a genius move to finally move on from Bellotti who was loved by all, we got a better coach in Kelly. And now we see, Helfrich maybe had a better grasp on this machine more than we thought, Chip seems completely lost in the NFL without his OC. Once again, the University of Oregon proves to be innovators and continue the success.

I will say this. Helfrich isnt a better coach just yet. Frost and Helfrich are calling plays WAY better than Kelly.

Kelly was so stubborn, if something wasnt working he WOULD NOT deviate from it. He believed it would work, and kept at it. That was a fault of his.

But the team isnt nearly as disciplined as of yet under Helfrich. The pre snap penalties under Helfich are up compared to Kelly. That has to change. When Coach Helfrich gets that cleaned up it would be hard to argue.

But we are measuring 4 games for Helfrich vs 4 seasons for Kelly.

SO far, I am very pleased with Helfrich. Needs to kick some ass on his team with these unforced penalties though. And quick. UW, UCLA, and Stanford are coming up quick.

you are right about Kelly's stubbornness, and also Helfrich willing to open the playbook more with passing adds a whole new dimension to Mariota's game. Which almost makes the possibilities for the Ducks endless and impossible to stop.

Kelly's stubbornness cost us against Stanford last year. Helfrich has a GREAT chance to go undefeated in his first season as HC.

Also, its not as easy coaching in the NFL as it is in the PAC 12. obviously.

Chip is coming back to the college game........soon....Don't know if he comes back this year due to his show cause, but guaranteed after next season he will be lurking. Don't know what big name jobs will be open then.

Ya he really does. I love that he will deviate from the gameplan in a seconds notice. Like against Tennessee he decided to air it out and use a true freshman TE as his go to weapon that day.

We will see how well Helfrich does with WBs not named Marcus Mariota next season or in two years as well.

Kelly did pretty darned good without the Heisman front runner. Have to see if Helfrich can as well.

Ya he will be back in CFB soon for sure. Only reason he left in the first place is because he would have been suspended from coaching the team. He left for a great NFL job, but wouldnt have if the suspension wasnt on the horizon.

HATED the Kelly hire as an Eagles fan. I expect he'll be gone after year 3 and then we can get on to rebuilding. This offensive genius has led the Eagles to 16 and 13 points the last 2 games. He seems lost on the sideline.

I admire Kelly, appreciate all he did and the reason he left saved our ass. He left for what he thought would be a better career move and also saved the program from what could have been disaster sanctions. I think we don't get off so easy if he stays our HC and of course, we probably lose him for a season anyways.

But, he will be back. Philly media already wants him gone since he went for a 2 pt conversion last week and they've been hounding him ever sense. His drama queen players are bailing on him. This isn't a fun gig for him and he probably wishses he was still in Eugene.

I just hope when he returns, he stays away from the PAC.

It's just more Oregon chit chat.

We keep our Nebraska chit chat on the Nebraska forum.

I'll see if admin will create an Oregon forum. Stand By...

Maybe if you spent more time talking about idle Oregon chit chat on your Oregon forum, you'd have a better following?
