9 straight 50 goal seasons...Mike Bossy will never be tied let alone broken.

19 striaght playoff series wins 1980-1984 New York Islanders. No one will probably ever reach 11.

When you really think about that. It's pretty damn impressive.

This might not be the toughest record to break but a very unlikely one I haven't seen mentioned yet is Theo Fleury's 3 SH goals in 1 game.

Not true. If you look at Rick T's about Mario "Mario's 5 goals every possible way in 1 game (even strenght, short handed, power play, penalty shot and empty netter)...the stars would really have to align for that to happen again...

It could be matched but how could you break it?

That's the thing though. I don't really consider it a record. Its an awesome feat like hitting for the cycle in baseball, but not really a record. Unless you want to say he has done it in the most consecutive games (1) in which case someone could break the record by doing it in more than 1 consecutive games. Or forget about "consecutive" and just use games in general.

True, I don't think it's considered a record but an awesome feat for sure.

How bout Hartnells streak of taking an ill advised penalty in every single regular season game.

ok...ok, so I exaggerated a bit, but you guys get the point.

Glenn Hall's 502 consecutive games played for a goalie. Hardest record in sports to break, period. It will never happen.

this is it right here.. ppl are shocked when people go 30 straight now.. obviously gretz's goals, assisnts, and points records are out there.. but there nothing compared to the gap between these 2.. gretz might be twice or 3 times, but hall is almost 17 times more than the normal

How about Bobby Orr's plus minus of +124 in 70-71? Nobody has even had a +/- of half of that since Wayne Gretzky around 1986.

Keep in mind that the +/- stat back in that season included a + for PP points and a - for a PP goal against.

Good point Dup. Didn't Larry Robinson have some obsene +/- rating one season as well? Or maybe it was career i'm not sure.

I found it...

* Best ± rating, career: Larry Robinson, +730
* Best ± rating, season: Bobby Orr, +124 (1970–71)
* Best ± rating, game: Tom Bladon, +10 (December 11, 1977 against the Cleveland Barons)
* Worst ± rating, season: Bill Mikkelson, -82 (1974–75)

+730! That's incredible.

It's the one record in all of sports you can guarantee will never be broken. Never. There isn't one record that passes it.

uhh...

How about Bostons 3 Shorthanded goals ON THE SAME FRIGGIN' POWEREPLAY in 64 seconds as they fought for playoff positioning against my friggin' out of contention last-game-of-the-year-get-me-the-heck-to-summer-vacation-WTFisDefense 'Canes just this past April. :eek::eek::eek:

Took 100 years for it to happen the first time... probably be as many years before it happens again.
