Haas F1 Team on the way?

The FIA is looking at applications for a 12th F1 squad, beginning next season. Bernie Ecclestone seems to be favoring the bid submitted by Gene Haas, 1/2 owner of NASCAR's Stewart-Haas Racing.

I was giggling myself when I wrote the post seeing his chubness trying to squeeze into and F-1 cockpit. I don't think anybody knows who the driver(s) is/are going to be but if Red Bull disappears and the team closes shop, Vettel would be looking for work.

I would think so Indy. F-1 is a serious committment of time, energy, personnel, resources, technology that boggles the mind and it is something you just don't slap together in a year.

in 2016 they could field a competitive car with good drivers.

Haas F1 now has a factory in England to go along with their NC location.

Haas buys Marussia factory in Branbury

Haas denies that they are interested in completely taking over all of Marussia's assets. IF Marussia survives to compete in 2015, it will apparently be under the new name of Manor F1.

This should be interesting watching Gene Haas maneuver through the maze of development for this new F-1 team that accompanies such an endeavor.

Haas' car has passed the mandatory crash tests, and so is ready for test runs.
