I'm starting to hate this guy. Like Eric Bedard.
It doesn't bother me as much because we only gave money for him, not prospects.

Kind of a shame because Divish had been talking about how his fastball velocity was back where it was during his Cy Young season.

Also I think this is his first trip to the IL in his career.

I mean to pile on the "negativity," but here are how the Mariners offensive additions have hit so far:

Toescar Hernandez: .071/.133/.143
Kolten Wong: .077/.250/.077
A.J. Pollock: .000/.000/.000
Tommy La Stella: .143/.143/.286

It's just four games, but it would inspire a lot more confidence if they at least hit the weight of a small child. Also why the fuck is Tommy La Stella DHing in games?

I am not worried about Hernandez

I am worried about LaStella and Wong. Wong super worries as he only has warning track power and cannot seem to hit hard ground balls or line drives. he is going to pop out, can of corn style constantly unless he starts squaring the ball up and hitting it hard on the ground somewhere.

I was really worried about this lineup producing runs and our OF depth. Kelenic hasn't done anything to where he should have been awarded the everyday LF job and I am not sure what La Stella and Pollock are going to bring to this team. I probably would have been good with keeping Kyle Lewis even though he struck out 6x in 9 AB's to start the season.

Make or break month of April for JK. Play him vs righties and the occasional lefty or both. They need to definitively find out by end of May whether they have him fish or cut bait. If he is sub .210 on April 30 ( approx 100 at bats ) they need to put him on a short leash.

During the month of May ... bird dog the hell out of all his plate appearances, as he needs to be steadily climbing from low .200's avg up to .250 by end of May or you just ship him off to the best offer you get around the league.

The Mariners cannot have a legit post season contending ball club with either corner outfielder batting sub .250.

The average age of an active player on an MLB Opening Day roster was 29.33 years old.

I'll hold off on hammering him some more. Coming of the IL I'll give him a couple of starts to get right.
