Sabean heard I platooned at third in high school and inquired about what shape I'm in and I told him I need a week and my only demand is that Angel Pagan and Brandon Crawford have to lose the absurd curls in the back.

Padres are about to devastate.

I had a flat 85mph fastball that I sometimes threw for strikes in BP.

Am I overqualified?

It's beyond ridiculous. Last night as soon as Pagan got his fingers stepped on at second he tosses the helmet off to shake out his greasy curls for the home crowd.

Naw, you aren't old enough for him to "kick the tires" on.

Ssh

LOL, so true. I dont think he even hits 90mph anymore.

Never bothered Greg Maddux! Yes, I love Greg Maddux even though he only pitched 19 games with the Dodgers in his twilight years. I still remember going to a Dodgers-Giants game where he and Jason Schmidt pitched 9 scoreless innings each with Russell Martin hitting the walk-off in the 10th. Beautiful stuff even though Maddux didn't have much velocity.

The prob is that Timmeh made his hay with his high-90s FB coupled with his in-the-dirt sinker. Now that his FB is 88, his sinker is almost worthless. In his CY years, he was not the most accurate pitcher, so he doesnt have that to fall back on. He is working on that now and developing his curve to go along with the spotted FB now, as well as simply learning how to "pitch".

Will he ever get back to being a solid #3? I doubt it.

People like to bring up Maddux, but Maddux is a unique individiual. Maddux had great control of his pitches. The problem with Lincecum is he doesn't have consistent command of his pitches. When Lincecum had a 93- 95 mph fastball, he could make an occasional mistake in location. Not anymore. If Lincecum can ever get consistent command, then he could be pretty good again. If I had to bet on what he is going to be, I see him as a guy with a record just north of .500. He might string two or three good games and then throw a couple of stinkers.
