Tough break, just hope it isn't serious. I think he did enough to be in the drivers' seat for the starting CF job next year, though. In just 41 games he accumulated 1.1 bWAR/ 0.6 fWAR. Over a full season that's approaching 4 bWAR and 2.5 fWAR. Considering he had an OPS under .700, it shows how valuable he has been defensively. Real deal

My feelings on football have already changed and that is without watching the movie. Reading all the stories and research has really soured me on that sport. I've just been too lazy to remove the 49ers from my list of teams.

I'm afraid to do research on how this might affect his skills. Running and fielding should be fine, sure, but does this hurt his batting and throwing is the question.

Well it's not his throwing shoulder. This injury has been the kiss of death to pitchers tho, with very few throwing at the same velocity after surgery.

Well it's not his throwing shoulder. This injury has been the kiss of death to pitchers tho, with very few throwing at the same velocity after surgery.

His non-throwing shoulder and back shoulder in the batter's box. That's probably some minor good news, from what I've read

I watched concussion again last night. The mike Webster character was just so sad. Props to Will tho for a great performance. He had Bennett's accent down perfectly but toned it down for the movie (from bluray extras).

The Frontline doc goes into more detail about websters injuries. His whole forehead was just scar tissue. I think I'll watch that again tonight.
