It's a final in LA, 4-0. Worried about the d'backs?

At least the dbacks were having some trouble deciding if they were contenders so they didn't pull off a big deadline deal.

And it's official, dodgers lose 4-0 to the D-Backs, who are now 3 back.

New additions this series:

Hanley: 0-10
Victorino: 0-4
League: 1/3 inning 1 ER
Choate: 1 1/3 innings 1 ER (on a HR off a lefty)

It's a 3 team race, that's for sure. D-Backs aren't going anywhere IMO, plus they have a lot of ammunition on the pitching side in the minors.

Alright tzill, get your ass back on here and gloat dammit.

For the record, I'm in the camp of "paid like Hanley, plays like Arias" and I have zero statistical data to back that up.

Hunter Pence sure seems excited to be here:

Hunter Pence also said AT&T has always been his favorite ballpark so he's excited to call it his home park now.

Hunter Pence also gave #SFGiants props for being "clever hecklers" when he played here as a visitor.

Pence glad to be on positive side of SF crowd. Still remembers woman who yelled "hey bird legs!" to him all game long here.

I asked Hunter Pence if he'd consider signing here long term. "Absolutely. That would be wonderful."

Pence said no team has ever offered him a long-term commitment, including Phillies. "They have a lot of people they're paying over there."

Those were various tweets

Good articles on Pence:

Pence 'absolutely' would sign long-term with Giants

Highlights from Hunter Pence first extended interview | Giants Extra

Interesting, Pence took over a former Giant in RF in College. Daniel Ortmeier.

I'm iffy about signing a 30 year old to a long term deal, but that's probably just RoRo sickness.

This is just spit-balling number wise here, but i'd rather pay Melky and Pence 5/60 each, than have one 32 year old 6+/120+ albatross on our hands. Less years, less money, two above average players filling the corners vs one guy who WILL not be worth that deal half way through.
