Game Thread Lions vs Eagles......

I'm starting this a day early, (tired of hearing Cards fans whine about a "no call")

Big test this week, Lions offense ranked #2, Eagles sitting right behind them at #3.
Lions defense is #15 in the league while the Eagles, (wont mention cause of the early crap play in the beginning of the season)

Need to keep Calvin Johnson somewhat cornered, he could come out and shred this defense, making for a long afternoon, they need to pressure Stafford, blitz blitz and more blitz...

They gotta pick thier poison, try to take away Bush or CJ, niether is an easy task, that being said I would try to eliminate the run and force them to pass since the weather is gonna be a factor and could contribute to some turnovers. Shutting down CJ is next to impossible but trying to contain him would be key.

it will be interesting to see what stafford does. have to assume the eagles will focus on locking down johnson, leaving others open or with little help. is he going to take that all game, or try to force it? i think that will be the difference in the game. if the lions win the turnover battle, it's a loss for the eagles. if they can pick stafford a couple times or get him to fumble one away, the eagles will be in good shape.

Just stopped by to say good luck today(just not too much). Our offense can play in the cold, it just remains an inconsistent offense. That has been the problem the entire year. We look good for a half or so, but completely shut down for another half.

This game is important for both teams. I honestly can say both teams look like good match ups on paper. We both have quick strike offenses(yours a bit faster paced), and both D's have improved over the last month or so.

Should be a good battle.

Should be a very good game. I think it's going to be a low scoring and sloppy game. I like the Eagles 23-20.

I think Johnson won't be too much of a factor in this weather. Play calling will be crucial today for Chip. We need a big game from shady and the tight ends as well. Eagles 21-7

Ok early on the lions are moving the ball somewhat with a couple of first downs. While the the birds seem confused and timid on offense. And also Johnson is proving me wrong. That guy is amazing

mediocre start as kelly is being outcoached again. the eagles offense has done nothing except hand off to shady, which isn't a great option today, and a couple of normal passing plays. on the other side the lions have already gone deep, rolled some play-action and are just trying to pound it up the middle. thankfully, bell can't hold on at all. they should focus on stripping him every single time now.

as soon as the eagles get the ball, they should run a play-action and go deep for jackson.

Well while the Lions look like their offense is handling the snow better than the Eagles they are also shooting themselves in the foot with their turnovers

I haven't heard Bryce Brown's name called - he might be better suited to the conditions than McCoy
