I don't think Nefty was dominant enough this year, nor is he confident enough in all of his pitches to be an effective starter, at least not yet. He's fine where he's at right now. If they moved him into the rotation I could see him having an Ogando type season, great at first until hitters start to figure him out and adjust to his fastball.

if he can do it and then what happens if we turn into the white sox / cardinals who cant find a guy to close games, the rangers have tried to find a closer before,,,francisco(sv% 70), cordero(sv%82)..had 2 seasons with texas under 70% saves converted....mariano sv% 89....hasnt been below 87% since his first year closing.....feliz last year 93% converted this year 84%......now do the rangers win without someone back there that can shut it down when needed or do you want to risk a gem by the SP on a shaky closer.....feliz has a ton of value to the rangers as a closer and we have harrison,wilson,holland and whoever else to handle the sp load
