It is so ridiculous for people to be calling others homophobic over shit like that though. Just because a person does not approve of his or her lifestyle as a gay DOES NOT MEAN HE OR SHE IS AFRAID. It means that he dislikes their sexual orientation and disapproves. To not approve is a constitutional right protected by the first amendment.
