For the first time since the beginning of the program in 1997, UNO will be playing in the Frozen Four. Game starts in less than an hour. Let's go Mavs!
Wow Massa just made an amazing save...should be 1-0 Providence. Mavs look to be intimidated by PC's physical play so far. Need to make some space out there so that UNO's superior skill can show through.
Massa with another huge save. He's been tested a couple times. So far the PC goalie hasn't faced anything too difficult. The good news is that UNO can't play much worse than this.
Jon Gillies, the Providence goalie, was the starting goalie for the US in the 2014 World Junior Championship. UNO needs more shots if they want to get any past him.
After 1 period, there is no score. Been a goaltending battle thus far, with Massa the Omaha goalie having to do most of the work. Providence is definitely controlling the game so far, but UNO has been playing pretty badly. Hopefully they can get it turned around at the intermission. They showed flashes of getting something going, now they just need to sustain it.
UNO is starting to play with a little more fire. I'm hoping the tide of the game starts to turn a bit here. So far, the second period has looked much better than the first. Still 0-0.
