Dan Campbell is a crazy fuck but seems like the team buys into what he's preaching. I could see a 9-8 record and of those 8 loses at least half of them will be close games.

IMO....they are a year away from being that competitive.

I’m not sure Steve Young could take this team to the Super Bowl.

I do expect this offense to move the ball and put up consistent points.

Lions are on pace to shatter the single season record for most points given up in 1 season, this is now easier with 1 extra game per season.

• Single season record (16 games) is 533 points - 1981 Baltimore Colts (33.3 pts/game)
• Lions on pace (17 games) for 599 points (presently avg 35 pts/game)
• If only look at 16 games, Lions on pace for 564 points still breaking the record.

To not break the record for most points Lions defense will have to avg 30 points/game or less over last 13 games.

Some hope for optimism

• do have a lot of game left against teams presently averaging less than 20 points per game: Jets, Pats, Panthers, Bears x2, Packers x2
• Only 2 games very more present more potent scoring offenses: Bills and Jags

Concern:

• gave up 48 to Seattle who was avg 15 points prior to game and 23 points after playing Lions (scored more pts vs Lions than 3 prior games combined)
• Gave up 27 points to Washington who avg 18 points/game

No offense against the lions defense is considered weak in my opinion if you ask me.
