PINEHURST, N.C. -- The Atlantic Coast Conference’s reputation has taken plenty of hits in recent years.

Jimbo Fisher figures it’s time to change that, and he hopes his Florida State team is the one to lead the way.

From the moment the Seminoles stepped into the ACC 20 years ago, they were the league’s clear gold standard.

VT will be in the title game. The Coastal is either garbage (WhoVA, Duke) awaiting trial (UNC, Miami) or well... Georgia Tech, outside of the Hokies.

The Atlantic has 4 of the top five teams in the conference in FSU, BC, Maryland and NCSt. Add in Clemson who is always good for an upset and that will be a tougher division for sure.

Once both teams get to the title game, it will be very interesting though. The steady frontrunner or emerging sleeping giant. It is 2-2 since VT has joined the conference.

As much as FSU has been projected higher, a lot of that was based on the recently recruited freshman. It'll be interesting to see is some of that new talent develops this year.
