Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that an economic conflict between Major League Baseball and its umpires "might be brewing."
The league has submitted a proposal to the umpires that includes, among other things, reductions in regular and postseason pay as well as their per diem. Rosenthal says that the umps are "split" on whether to accept the offer. While not nearly as large as the potential economic dispute MLB could face with the MLBPA, it's yet another thing the league has on its plate as it tries to cobble together a 2020 season.
