First guy that came to my head when reading the thread title was Ken Griffey Jr. I was never an M's or Reds fan, but man did I love watching that guy swing the bat. I always refer to his swing as Majestic!. Most beautiful, elegant, awe-inspiring swing in baseball history.

Also, there's a very short list of true role models in all of sports and he's on it.

A lot of love for Griffey JR in here, so let me ask this here.

If over 90% of baseball players were considered to be juicing in the 90s, why do Griffey JR, Thome, and Frank Thomas get free passes?

Not to say any of them used, because there is no proof either way as far as I know. It just always seemed weird to me that even the mainstream media gives those guys a free pass while condemning other players that are just as marginal to me.

This is tuff so I'm going to name a few players I love/loved watching.

Randy Johnson-best slider this game has ever seen, one of the most feared pitchers ever.
Juan Pierre- scrappy dude who was just a gamer
Ichiro-had he played his whole career in MLB he would go down as the best pure hitter ever imo.
Todd Helton-dude could hit the ball. Nothing more needs to be said.
Greg Maddux-a magician with the baseball
Vlad Guererro- no pitch is safe with him in the box
Manny Ramirez- manny was manny

If I think of more ill share them. This is top of my head.

Koufax dominated. Cal Ripken showed up.
Koufax had 1 dominant season (1966). Another season I would say he was the best pitcher in the NL (1963). For almost half his career, he hovered been mediocre and above average. Yet he is seen as one of the greatest pitchers of all time who had one of the greatest stretches of all time.

By all accounts he was a real asshole too.
