I own two homebrewing books: Charlie Papazian's The Complete Joy of Homebrewing and Mark Denny's Froth. I'm about halfway through each.

Papazian's book is decidedly more comprehensive, but Denny is a physicist, and his book is written in a way which gears itself more toward the way I think. Based entirely on what I've learned, I'd go for Froth.

How about you guys?

Complete Joy of Homebrewing is a must.

Also from Papazian, I really like The Homebrewer's Companion
Radical Brewing by Randy Mosher is good
Brewing Classic Styles Jamil Zainasheff
A bunch of the "Classic Beer Styles" series, whole books devoted to one particular style, very nice

I got Froth for christmas one year, but havent read that one yet

Ray Daniels' Designing Great Beers is one that i've had on my bookshelf for a few years and still havent gotten around to reading

Borrowed this one from my brother and it has alot of good information in it, especially for a novice like me. Have heard the "Joy" is a great one. Will have to check that one out.

Very good book. Lots of info on history of styles, which is nice depending on how in depth you like to research before brewing.

The BrewMaster's Bible is good, too. A bit simplistic, but very good if you have limited experience with recipe design, and want to stay pretty close to specific styles.

I think Joy of Homebrewing should be in every brewer's library.
Homebrewer's Companion is an okay expansion of the first.
