@Omar 382 thread about Charlotte got me thinking.

If MLB were to expand by two teams where would they go. I believe they would put one team in the Eastern time zone and one west of the Mississippi.

I would have to say the Eastern team comes from
New Orleans, Puerto Rico, Nashville, Charlotte, or Norfolk.

While the Western team comes from
San Antonio, Portland, Omaha, Las Vegas, or Oklahoma City.

From those lists I would see them going with Puerto Rico, because they want that international flavor. And Portland because the other four each have a major negative on them.

The Expos used to play part of the season in San Juan, so it might work.

Charlotte and Nashville are Braves country, so I'm gonna go ahead a kill that thought.

If we were expanding by two teams, I'd go with Omaha and San Juan.

Nashville has done a good job supporting both of their professional teams so I'd put one there (the AAA Milwaukee affiliate, the Nashville Sounds would of course have to be relocated as well). I'd put the other one in Portland. I'd say OKC but figured they're probably still considered Rangers territory. Not sure if Omaha would be able to support a team.

When I was growing up near Charlotte, we all hated the Braves...of course they absolutely sucked for much of that time. I'm sure those great teams in the 90's made a lot of fans.

If you're putting a team in NC, maybe somewhere in the Triangle or Triad is better. There are more transplants who are less likely to be attached, as a group, to a single team like Atlanta

Well, the Braves seem to only be able to win one World Series per city, so I wouldn't be opposed to them moving to Charlotte. Hell, I might go to a few more games if they did.
