If the Big 12 were to expand New Mexico and New Mexico St and maybe even Colorado St would be my top choices. None are great options now but they have potential if they were to join a power conference.

It's too late to expand the Big XII. The loss of Nebraska, Colorado, Missouri and Texas A&M were too much. The fate of the Big XII is sealed. There simply are NO teams deserving of joining the conference with the exception of BYU. None. The only thing to look forward to is the eventual demise of the Big XII and the creation of 16 team power conferences. I look forward to the day Oklahoma gets out of this Dead Conference Walking.

Tulsa stadium capacity: 30,000
BSU stadium capacity: 32,000
BYU stadium capacity: 63,470

Give it up, people! There aren't any decent schools out there that (a) want to be in the Big XII and (b) the Big XII should want. The only possible exception is BYU and they don't want to play sports except on certain days so they would be a pain in the ass. The train already left the station for the Big 12. We made a mistake staying in this crippled conference which was the result of Boren not following through on his insistence that OU would only look out for itself. He got bent over a barrel again by Texas (surprise!) and here we are. You could park a Cadillac in Boren's ass every time he gets done dealing with UT.

I think we could jump to the SEC if we didn't have to have little brother tag along.
The PAC seems too far away and the BIG seems out of place.

I don't know what the answer is, but if expansion happens, whatever teams come in, need to be self sufficient or bring increased revenues to the conference, and other than BYU I don't know what teams that would be. None I think. Cincinnati and Louisville could make some decent additions and improve the basketball image.:noidea:

We signed away our television rights so we aren't going anywhere. The addition of WVU kills us on expansion. While they are a good program to have in the conference they are just to far away. Adding teams that do make geographic sense like New Mexico, New Mexico St, Colorado St and BYU because harder because of WVU.It leaves us with trying to add teams from the east like South Florida and Central Florida.

Notre Dame and Arkansas. I think both could be convinced to come here. Hell Arkansas could drive to OU, Osu, KU, Ksu, and possibly Iowa St.

Those are at the top of everyone's wish list but I was talking about schools we have a chance at getting.

Isn't Notre Dame in the Big East except for football? Wouldn't think it would be that hard a sell.

ACC and has to schedule 60 games over 12 years against ACC in football.

ACC is the conference that could be pilfered. Their tv deal is weak and the revenue each team gets is nothing compared to the other conferences. How about bringing FSU and Miami into the Big XII? Or go for 14 team league and bring in FSU, Miami, Clemson, and Wake. Now that would be worth doing. The only other hope for OU is to joing the SEC. Could have left with A&M but the state's legislature was throwing a fit over little brother getting left out. Too many Pokes in the state government for OU to pull that one off. But that was the original deal for A&M and OU to join not Mizzou. OU was all set to go to the PAC but as mentioned before Texas screwed that deal up. OU needs to make some changes to be elite again. A new conference might be just the thing. Don't believe we will see it though. We are stuck for good or bad in the Texas 10 conference.

I think Texas could start calling it that and we would stay.

I don't think the SEC has any interest in WVU. Maybe not OU.

They were on the list, but got voted against. Personally wanted WVU instead of Mizzou.

I'm sure they'd take OU in a heartbeat.

Provided they don't do conference champion playoffs. If that happens, the SEC should try to get Tulane and Georgia Tech back for easy wins.
