Held out hope as long as we could but it was inevitable this year. Enjoyed the conversations, hope for better health and more turnovers next year.

Wondering what they are thinking on Hardy. He looked really good tonight.

Better days are definitely on the horizon, Cowboy fans. This was just a shitty season without Romo, they'll win again next season I'm sure

Appreciate the words, I would say go Steelers, but that's the ONE AFC team I don't like. Hope you understand.

I hated the Steelers back in the day, got kind of a grudging respect for them now. Kind of like the Giants. I don't like their squad, but I respect their coach and would rather see them come out than the Eagles or stinking Redskins

Yes I do have mad respect for them, but still hate them.

Aside from Jones and Scandrick, needs to be a complete overhaul in secondary.

Yep . It's pretty thin back there. We have good players amongst the front 7. The back 4 is lacking.

Then again, I'm pretty sure Carr or Claiborne both will go to another team and instantly play better because that's just our luck. The Weeden shit seriously has me pissed off.

Cowboys go to backup-backup-backup plan, will start Kellen Moore
By Jared Dubin | Staff Writer

December 21, 2015 11:00 am ET

The play of the Dallas Cowboys' backup quarterbacks this season has been terrible. In essentially 12 full games filling in for the injured Tony Romo (but only 10 starts; Romo left two games early with a broken clavicle), Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel stunk up the joint something fierce. The ugly numbers:

COWBOYS BACKUPS
QUARTERBACK W-L COMP % YPA TD INT QB RTG
Brandon Weeden 0-3 72.4 7.5 2 2 92.2
Matt Cassel 1-6 58.0 6.2 5 7 70.3
TOTAL 1-9 62.7 6.7 7 9 77.4
Those performances "helped" the Cowboys to the NFL's No. 30 scoring offense through 14 weeks, and when Cassel struggled again against the Jets in Week 15, Jason Garrett gave him the quick hook and brought undrafted former practice squad member Kellen Moore off the bench for the rest of the game. Moore was promptly picked off on his second career pass, but he did toss a touchdown to Dez Bryant in his first quarter of NFL action -- something Cassel managed to do just once in seven games.

Moore finished the game 15 of 25 for 158 yards, with the touchdown to Bryant as well as three total interceptions. Apparently, that was good enough for the Cowboys to want to see more, as Jason Garrett announced on Monday that Moore will get the start for Dallas' Week 16 game against the Buffalo Bills.

Monday Night play: Lions at Saints is an easy call

In all honesty, this is the right move. Weeden's gone. The Cowboys know what they have in Cassel, and what they have is terrible. Moore is only 26 and has thrown just 25 passes in his entire NFL career. The Cowboys might as well take these next two games to see if he has what it takes to be an NFL-caliber backup to Tony Romo, who will presumably return as their starter next season.

Considering how poorly their backup quarterback plan worked out this year, it's imperative that Dallas find someone much better for 2016. With their season already over, giving Moore a shot to prove that he's that guy can't really hurt.

Mo was supposed to be #3 this year. IMO he played well enough to be a #3 next year. Jones has showed some nice skills but also has had many poor plays that somehow don't seem to be discussed. But, when you throw a rookie to the wolves and ask him to learn a bunch of different positions that is to be expected. I hope Scandrick comes back healthy. I think with a starting caliber corner thrown into the mix and Carr kicked to the curb the secondary can be OK - pass rush should improve a little next year one way or another.

I was beginning to wonder if I was just really as football stupid as some posters think. All I have read is how good Jones has played and is on this board. Glad you said it.

A lot of good and a lot of bad with Jones IMO. I think when you have a rookie DB you tend to stress the good going forward knowing it's a position that even the best usually look poorly at from time to time. I'm pretty high on Jones going forward and see him as our FS for years to come. My point was more I'm not sure I watched the same season that some others did when reading their Jones comments...He was out of position a lot, didn't seem to know who was his guy a lot and got burnt for some pretty big plays. But again, for a rookie DB I can write that off when looking to the future and focus on the talent he showed and some of the good plays he made for us...

Everson Walls was on the local radio two days ago talking about Jones. He said all corners get beat but the play the Jets made Saturday was pure Wilcox cause of the coverage they were in. Walls said the biggest problem all season was communications and mainly between the safety's.

Growing pains for sure but Jones flashed his skills and hopefully make him the free safety and draft another top end corner. Time for Carr to go
