I saw Peyton win a SB while putting up the worst season of his career. I won't complain about the SB. But I also won't act like Peyton had the greatest season ever just because he won a SB.

Great, Eli didn't suck in the postseasons where he won

Peyton did

btw, ken anderson is a good comparison to plunkett as both overalapped roughly the same years and played thru the old and new rules and 14 to 16 game schedule.

using only the years anderson started 9+ games he averaged 2,440 yards a year.

and yeah, anderson was a good comp% guy especially the final few years of his career as a starter, under those new rules.
So for everyone else you have to cherry pick years and cherry pick stats.

For everyone else you have to flat out invent a different version of history.

But for Eli, his production stands on its own. Just factually and actually sitting there as a perfect representation of history to be observed amongst the other greats.

That says a lot about this whole charade you all are attempting.

When Peyton goes into Canton will his bust be just of his massive forehead? @Rock Strongo. What are your thoughts?

Peyton moved like that guy Brooks that hung himself in Shawshank Redemption in that last SB win....which he had very little to do with....

No, I didn't.

I've never argued that Eli didn't play good in 2 games. My entire argument is that it requires playing well for an entire career for one to get the HOF. And seeing as how Eli hasn't, I don't believe he's HOF worthy. He shouldn't get in the Hall just because "he beat Brady twice." That doesn't make him Hall of Fame worthy, otherwise Jake Plummer might as well be a HOF'er.

No, Jake Plummer didn't win two super bowls and he sure isn't sitting there in the top ten of moving the ball and scoring the ball all time.

Your arguments aren't getting worse, only because that had nowhere lower to go.

No, but he did beat Brady twice.

Most passing yards in a playoff ever. Eli (2011).

Thought you claimed it was just two games? Gee wow I guess you were wrong. How shocking.

So he moves the ball and scores the ball, yet you want to complain?

How does the game of football go? Do please explain it without using yards/distance or points/scoring. Go...
Everybody is putting up big yards and td numbers these days. He just has played the most games in this passer friendly era. You can't compare him to qbs even who started in the mid 90s because of rules changes. He simply has compiled a lot of numbers in a time where everybody else has at the same time while doing it far less efficiently and effectively than his upper echelon peers.

Passer rating looks at four things. Passing yards per attempt, TD's per attempt, INT's pet attempt, and completion percentage. I think we can all agree those are important things, right? Well he's behind Jay cutler and cam Newton but is one spot above josh mccown.

And Tom Brady is behind Tony Romo and Mark Sanchez in postseason passer rating, and idiots continue to label him the greatest

And he's not even first overall amongst active QBs

Romo and sanchez each played six career playoff games. That isn't anywhere near significant enough sample size to base anything on.

Okay, he's virtually equal to Eli Manning and Joe Flacco in postseason QBR

Take it up with the Giants.

The two rings proves they were smarter about it than you are.
if eli gets in, every single QB with 2 rings is in. but plunkett.

eli is getting in on rings, not his numbers. I think eli would even admit that. 50k yards, 300 TD's, yadda yadda. its a stat compiling league for QB's now. its why we had one 5k season up until 2011. more and more rule changes make QB's look better than they areally are.

i mean, matt schaub once passed for nearly 5k yards. so did daunte cullpepper.

Yards may be meaningless or misleading in a 16 game reg season

But in a postseason in which you win every game?

Think that makes little sense

Hooray, you threw for a lot of yards in a 4 game stretch.

I should be impressed because...

That's it. I'm officially a Joe Flacco fan. LOL.
