Rob Demovsky: The Reason for the demotion was because of a missed curfew.

Sources: Lacy's limited role tied to missed curfew

On Friday, Packers coach Mike McCarthy called it "an internal football decision that was made. That's what resulted in Eddie's reps." When asked whether it was a disciplinary move, McCarthy added: "Could be. But those things we don't discuss in here anyway. It's something that we handled internally, and that was the outcome."

Asked earlier Friday at his news conference what Lacy needs to do to to regain his starting job, McCarthy said, "He needs to build off his preparation. He's put up some yards in the prior games, but he can be better. We need to be better as a team, frankly. I discussed this in our team meeting. There's a lot more to give. The fine details are not where we want them to be. There's a formula for us to get it there. That was made clear to our players and with the expectations and the commitment that we've made to each other, and we've got to do a better job. We're not clicking for four quarters in all three areas, and that's what we're working for."

I guess that could be it and the fact he has looked to have gained a shit ton of weight.

Also - correct me if I am wrong (minus the last 2 games he did well in) the OL hasn't given him much room to run

He just wanted to get his monies worth out of the all you can eat buffet. He lost track of time after his 14th plate and missed curfew.

Didn't put in the first part of the article:

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Packers running backs Eddie Lacy and Alonzo Harris both missed curfew Wednesday night in Detroit, according to two NFL sources.

The Packers demoted Lacy for Thursday night's game against the Lions and cut Harris only hours before kickoff.

He was already on thin ice for being too fat. I don't know why he would want to make any waves at this point. Dumb decision on Lacy's part here.

inconsistency with the team mightbe the reason why.... Though they just won on one hell of a play so who knows

They did create holes but he was just to big and slow to fit through the holes. Third stringer Crocket was just resigned and he had no problems sprinting through the line for nice gains of 10, 9, and 4 yards.

is this a sign to come with Lacy? Is he even worth playing anymore (fantasy wise) and do you think the Packers will continue to not use him

What's the over/under for Lacy's true weight? I say 270 lbs is about right. He makes many lb's look puny

Packers say they will go with the hot hand so if he continues what he did the previous two weeks then he can dominate as he's trying to prove he isn't too fat and should be the starter with the bulk of the carries. Packers give starters the benefit of the doubt so he will have another chance next week receiving the bulk of the carries. However, our O-line is missing four starters vs Dal so it his efforts might be futile. It's a flip of the coin my friend.

He's probably around 250-260ish if I had to guess.

Nice gain of 4 yards?

Starks has looked better.

Plus he doesn't average a fumble a game.

Eh, anything over 3 is considered a win for the offense.

I know a positive gain is a positive gain. But he was talking about the oline play. I guess I'd have to see the play, but getting tackled after 4 yards usually doesn't mean that there was some big hole opened up.
