What is the consensus on this guy? Does he turn it around or will he eat himself out of the league?

On one hand he has weight issues and he was a big disappointment this year.

On the other it's entirely possible Starks doesn't return and this guy gets a shot at the backfield all to himself.

I'm leaning toward liking him more than not.

Totally depends on his offseason.

If he gets back in shape, he could return to elite RB status. If he doesn't, he could play himself out of a job.

He is still talented enough to produce even while overweight, but he needs to work this offseason.

I don't see GB getting rid of him. But an every-down back? The NFL doesn't have too many of those "every-down" RB anymore. Only 7 RB in the league played on more than 60% of their offense's snaps (and Lacy was not one of them).

Packers seem to have little depth behind Lacy (if Starks bolts). But that can change in free agency. Over 30 RB changed teams last season (including some big names like McCoy and DeMarco).

To me Lacy still has more value than most backs. He's on a good offense. It's also an offense that most likely will ask their RB to kill the clock at the end of games. John Kuhn may vulture a TD or two, but Kuhn is 33+.

Overall, I like Lacy's situation. He really needs to cut back on the cheese fries tho.

Packers biggest issue this year was O-line both lack of talent and injuries. If they don't work on fixing that i'm probably going to avoid Packers for the most part this next fantasy season.

I couldn't believe how out of shape he was last year. If he can stay serious, look out.

I feel the same way. Just feels like their problems may take a couple of seasons to fix.

Glad to see Lacey taking his job seriously.

Hard to say where he'll go in drafts this offseason... IMO, his ceiling is 12-24 overall range. High risk, but doubt he would fall into the 3rd Rd. I don't see anyone in the top 10 taking a shot on him in the 1st round.

According to ADP (today, late March), he's the 12th RB selected. But with many WR going in the first couple of rounds, Lacy is averaging a late 2nd round selection (2.12). The earliest he's been drafted is 8th overall.

As I stated above and on other threads, (1) Lacy is on a good offense. (2) The Packers have not really addressed RB in free agency, signing 30-year old Starks to 2 more years.

IMO Lacy's in a much better situation than some "promising" RB with a limited body of work who seem to be gaining more value (i.e. Matt Jones; David Johnson)

Lost year for GB... They'll be back in the top 5 easily next season. Health permitting of course! :D
Could be, but I expect the Cards to have another good year on offense, Palmer health permitting.:D

You know Joe, you could of made the same argument the year before with J. Hill vs Lacey. Sure enough Hill had a bad year, but he still scored 8 more TDs then Lacey did. Just saying.:suds:
