Some of you are acting like this guy was an icon. Hence the real problem with the NFL. He was just another blind ref who did lots of arm curls and bench presses.

It is all relative to the quality of what you get:

We all know which one Ed would be compared to.

Hochuli made mistakes like any official. What separated him for me was him owning up to mistakes.

That's true.

Chargers fans sent him death threats (Stay Classy) when he botched the call on that Cutler fumble, calling it incomplete. Cutler went on to throw the winning TD to Brandon Marshall. I loved it because I had both of them on my fantasy team and won by 2 points.

Hochuli continued to apologize for the entire week after that.
