It's a good trade for both sides even if Howard won't resign with Houston. I'd rather take my chances with him. Their team, as constructed, without him probably won't ever be better than a 5th seed, maybe 4th. Let's make it simple and say they aren't winning championships. So if you get him and he leaves, you bottom out the roster, giving you a shot at a top pick in a future lottery.

Orlando, on the other hand, gets some nice pieces they can either use to rebuild or repackage.

Not a bad idea. Laker fans are making waves about getting D-will, but they'll have to dump salary to do it, along with a big roster purge. Dallas will make him a good offer.....a title winning core so to speak, home, and top dollar.

I think Nash would be GREAT off the bench. You certainly don't want him to start. His offense and playmaking ability would do wonders for guys like Haslem.

In terms of frontcourt, who is realistically available that's worth the trouble to go out and get?
